Terms and conditions
Last updated: 26 October 2026
In short: ifever stores documents and information you choose, and delivers them to the family and friends you choose if you die or become incapacitated. We are not a law firm, we do not write your will, and we cannot guarantee delivery. Please read the rest, especially “What can go wrong”.
1. Scope
These terms apply to all contracts between you and Apex Ventures Tech LLC [Street and number] [Postcode City] [EU member state] (“we”).
Our service is for people aged 18 and over. It is not intended for anyone under 18.
2. What ifever does
ifever is a digital vault. You can store documents, login details and letters in it, encrypted. You decide who gets which contents and who must confirm that you have died or can no longer make decisions. Regular check-ins show that you are fine.
We only release contents when your trusted people confirm it. A missed check-in on its own releases nothing. If a trusted person says you are fine, we stop the process. If a release starts, we tell you so you can cancel it. You can send a test release to yourself at any time.
ifever is not legal advice. We are not a law firm, and we do not create, validate, execute or witness any legal document. Storing a will here does not make it valid. A will’s validity depends on the law of the member state where you live and usually requires formalities such as a properly signed or witnessed document, and a power of attorney generally ends at death. Keep your signed originals somewhere safe and tell your executor where they are. Consult a lawyer or notary. We deliver copies and information; we do not create legal effect.
3. What can go wrong
This is the section that matters most, and we would rather over-explain it than have you discover it later.
- We may fail to deliver. Email can bounce or be filtered, phone numbers change, carriers block messages, and services suffer outages. We design against this with multiple channels, delivery confirmation, retries and alerts, but we cannot guarantee that any message arrives.
- We may deliver when we should not. Release requires your nominated trusted people to confirm your status. If they are mistaken, or act maliciously, your information may be released while you are alive. Choosing more than one person who must agree materially reduces this risk.
- Encryption keys can be lost. If our encryption key material is destroyed, the contents cannot be recovered by us or by anyone. Keep signed originals of important documents somewhere physical.
- Once released, it cannot be recalled. Delivered links, messages and downloaded files are in your recipients’ possession permanently.
ifever must not be your only plan. It is a way to make sure the right family and friends can find what you left them, not a replacement for a properly executed estate plan.
4. Contract and account
The contract is formed when you finish signing up with “Create account” and choose a plan. Before that you can check and correct your details. We send you a confirmation by email.
Please keep your details up to date, especially your email address and mobile number. Keep your password and any two-factor recovery codes secret and safe.
5. Prices and payment
The prices on our pricing page at the time of ordering apply. All prices are in euros and include VAT.
On the monthly plan you pay monthly in advance, on the yearly plan yearly in advance. We accept [payment methods].
6. Your partner’s vault
Each paid plan includes a second vault for your spouse or partner at no extra cost. Your partner’s vault is separate and private. You cannot see its contents and your partner cannot see yours.
If your plan ends, we will email you and your partner before anything changes and give your partner the chance to keep their vault. [Describe the rule precisely before launch.]
7. If a payment fails
If a payment fails, we do not lock your vault. Check-ins, reminders and releases carry on, because a switch that silently stops is the worst possible outcome. We get in touch and ask you to make the payment.
[Optional: rule on when, and with what notice, we may end the contract after lasting non-payment.]
8. Free for your loved ones
ifever is free for recipients and trusted people. They do not enter into a contract with us and never pay anything, including for opening released documents. There are no fees per document.
9. Term and cancellation
Monthly plan: the contract runs until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current month.
Yearly plan: the first term is 12 months. After that the contract continues until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and your plan runs until the end of the period you paid for.
You can cancel in your account or by email to support@ifever.eu. Deletion of your account is permanent and removes your vault, contacts and history.
After the contract ends you can still download your contents for [30] days. Then we delete them.
10. 30-day money-back guarantee
If you are not satisfied, tell us within 30 days of your first payment and we will refund that payment in full, to the payment method you used.
This guarantee is in addition to your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer and your statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days, which we do not exclude or limit. Where you ask us to begin the service during the withdrawal period, you may owe a proportionate amount for what was provided before you withdrew.
11. Gift vouchers
A gift covers 12 months of ifever, including a vault for the recipient’s partner. The recipient redeems it with the link we email them. [State expiry, refund and transfer rules before launch.]
12. Your duties
Choose your trusted people carefully and tell them beforehand. Keep your contacts’ email addresses and phone numbers current, and respond to check-ins. Only store information that you lawfully own and may share, and do not use the service to store anything unlawful. Sharing account credentials may breach the terms of those accounts; where a provider offers its own legacy tool, we encourage you to use it as well.
13. Availability
We make sure ifever is available with as few interruptions as possible. We announce maintenance in advance where we can. We may change or discontinue the service, and if we discontinue it we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance and give you time to export your vault.
14. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it may not be limited or excluded under applicable law, including for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body or health, or your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for trusted people giving false information, for the legal validity of your documents, or for any loss arising from a failure to deliver, a premature delivery or the unavailability of the service.
15. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is explained in our privacy policy.
16. Changes and governing law
We tell you about changes to these terms by email at least 30 days in advance. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before they take effect and request a refund for any unused period.
These terms are governed by the laws of the member state in which Apex Ventures Tech LLC has its registered seat, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country in which you have your habitual residence.
We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board. You may be able to use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
If any provision of these terms is invalid, the rest remain valid.
